Windows (working title) is an ongoing project started in 2025, emerging from the language of painting and slowly moving toward a more sculptural, physical presence. Made with acrylic paint on leather, the works are built through cut forms, suspended surfaces, and layered constructions that consider the architecturality of a painting — how an image can be assembled, held, folded, and extended into space. What begins as a surface becomes a soft structure, carrying the memory of painting while becoming something closer to a window, a landscape, or a fragment of architecture.
Since last summer, I have been living in the Catskills, where nature is abundant and leaves a lasting impression. This landscape has become a source of solace and inspiration, shaping the work as a collection of memories, traces, and impressions of nature accumulated over time. Through color, weight, texture, and movement, the leather pieces continue my research into the fragile and persistent relationship between humans and the nature.
